I know the Russian language, as well as the “Eastern specificity”, not only from textbooks or lectures within the walls of the university but above all from visits to Eastern European countries and contacts with people.
On my path, I met people of different social and material status, with different experiences, world views, awareness and culture of the Russian language. Residents of metropolises, provincial industrial towns and villages “at the end of the world”. Sometimes hardened supporters of the authorities, indifferent and lethargic crowds and idealists shouting out their anger and disapproval of the often-cruel reality.
It was in Russian that I had a lot of conversations which, in retrospect, I consider to be some of the most important in my life. In this language, I went through an accelerated course in humbleness, but also in courage.
I started my translation and interpretation practice already in my final years of studies, working on interpretation during scientific conferences, international projects and training courses. During the six years of my professional career, I have repeatedly acted as an interpreter during business meetings and negotiations, trade fairs, industry conferences, training courses, presentations, etc. I also regularly worked on specialised written translations (translations for business, technical translations).
In 2022, I expanded my scope of activity to include specialised translations and interpretations in the fields of security, army and military.
I am listed in the register of translators of the Chief Technical Organisation (register number: 11634), which entitles me to translate technical and specialised texts. My main areas of expertise include: military technology, the military, security, oil, coal and gas processing and international trade.
I am a member of the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialised Translators TEPIS (ID No: 1640N), the Polish Society for Security Studies and the Polish International Studies Association (Russia and Post-Soviet Area studies section, International Security section, Polar Regions studies section).
Translation offer in the Russian-Polish language pair
When working with written text, I use CAT - SDL Trados Studio software to speed up my work on translations while maintaining the highest quality standards.
The price per page of 1800 characters with spaces - from 55 zł - standard translation, specialised translation - from 65 zł. . One standard translation page is 1800 characters with spaces (according to the statistics of the MS Word editor). A preliminary quote is made before the translation begins. The final price is calculated based on the number of pages in the translation text (applies in particular to medical and security translations).
Standard mode - translations completed within more than 48h from the acceptance of the order, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (from 5 translation pages per day).
Express mode - translation completed within 48h or more than 5 translation pages per day. Once the translator is familiarised with the text, she will inform about the possibility of using the express mode (this will not be possible with a bigger number of other orders or a highly specialised text).
Express mode translations (more than 5 pages per day) + 50% of the basic price. The possibility of using the express mode depends on the translator's time availability. For work on Sundays and public holidays or at late night, additional charge of +100% of the basic price.
The execution time calculated in days does not include Saturdays, public holidays or the day of acceptance of the order for translation. The day on which the order was placed is not included in the order execution time.
I issue invoices without VAT - the prices quoted are final prices - gross. This price list does not constitute an offer within the meaning of Article 66 § 1 of the Civil Code. The above conditions are subject to change and are subject to individual arrangements.
In case of resignation from the Order after the commencement of the service, the Client is obliged to pay the remuneration for the part of the work performed by the Translator until the moment of resignation. Resignation from the Order may be made only in writing or in electronic form.
Interpreting offer in Russian-Polish language pair
The price for one hour of interpreting - 200 zł, price for a 4 hrs interpretation block - 600 zł. Additional interpreter's costs, e.g. accommodation, travel, meals - are covered by the client.
In case of trips abroad (Baltic States, Central Asia, Caucasus and others), 100% must be added to the regular rate. Ukraine - 200%.
The interpreter's working time is calculated from the moment he/she arrives at the agreed time until the moment he/she is released from interpreting. Planned and unplanned breaks in the meeting are included in the interpreting time.
